8 Astor Hall A stor Hall, approximately 75 feet long and 50 feet deep, is one of New York City's most magnificent entrance rooms. Built in the classical tradition, it features high- arched bays reaching to a vaulted ceiling nearly 40 feet overhead. Every surface in Astor Hall is white marble, and the effect is breathtaking. The singular, majestic beauty of the space and its surrounding corridors makes it the perfect setting for galas, weddings, formal dinners, film premieres, and cocktail parties. Because this is a public space, event setup cannot begin until the Library closes to the public. There is no air- conditioning available in Astor Hall.
